Three new bills which took effect in California Jan. 1 tighten the law on city and county redevelopment agencies. These will potentially impact any redevelopment activities the City of Lakeport undertakes, especially as it seeks to add the use of eminent domain to its redevelopment plan language.
LUCERNE - This month California Water Service plans to begin constructing a new treatment plant and customer service center in Lucerne, where it last year raised rates after a lengthy fight with the town's ratepayers.
