Mendocino National Forest seeking input on Trail 40 reroute project

MENDOCINO NATIONAL FOREST, Calif. – The Mendocino National Forest is seeking input on a proposal to reroute a segment of Trail 40 on the Grindstone Ranger District.

The project is located five miles southwest of Stonyford in Colusa County.

The proposed action involves rerouting a segment of Trail 40 about 300 feet east of its current location.

The purpose of the project is to maintain the functionality of the designated trail system and protect cultural and historic resources that exist in the area.

Trail 40 is a major trail artery for Mendocino National Forest’s designated trail system.
