Wayah Uswi Blue Wolf
1976-2015

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Wayah Uswi Blue Wolf, beloved and beautiful son of James and Bernie BlueWolf, passed from this world on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.

Wayah suffered greatly in this world but had a loving and generous heart that always brought a smile to the faces of those who knew him.

He was a child of Lake County, growing to manhood and proudly seeing the birth of his children Travis Kane, Oh'shinnah and Takaela.

He is survived by his sisters, Ci-Wona BlueWolf and Akomachi (Kyle) Morrow; niece, Haley Campfield; nephews, Ryan Morrow, Adam Blaze BlueWolf and Jason Campfield Jr.; and many cousins, aunties, uncles, relatives and friends.

We pray for his easy journey along the Southern Path and his safe arrival in the next world. We know he will keep the fire for us until it is our time to join him. We are grateful for all who loved him and for the prayers and condolences offered to us.

For those who wish to say a final goodbye in this world, a visitation will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary 1625 North High Street Lakeport, CA on Sunday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to noon.

For all of our Native, natural and close family and friends there will be a passing ceremony for him at our ceremonial grounds. An announcement of that date will be posted on Facebook and passed by word of mouth.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – Lester John Meeker Jr., born Sept. 22, 1936, in Greenville, Penn., passed suddenly April 11, 2015, in Fort Bragg, Calif.

Lester served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Meeker; children, Sharon, Don, Karen, Ron and Donna; and his loving grandchildren.

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Dorothy Louise Parsons: Sunrise, July 20, 1930, in Tulsa Okla.; sunset, April 14, 2015, in Clearlake.

She was survived by her children Jo Ann Parsons, Cathy Amsden, Jim Parsons and Al Parsons.

Dorothy also left behind nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

COBB, Calif. – Paula Ruth Wiley, age 63, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at her home in Cobb.

She was born to the late Paul and Nell Miller on Jan. 17, 1952, in Akron, Ohio.

Her childhood years were spent in Portage Lakes, Ohio where she graduated from Coventry High School.

Early in her career, she worked in Solon, Ohio as an administrative assistant at Stouffer’s Foods where she always took great pride in her work.

In the early 1990s, she moved to California where she raised her three children who gave her much joy and happiness.

Paula had many talents that included decorating her home, cooking and being a wonderful seamstress.

She loved listening to music, laughing and spending time with her family.

Over the years she has touched many people with her smile and kindness, and she will be missed dearly.

Paula is survived by her husband, Dale Wiley; her daughters, Ashley Mertensotto and Christina Mertensotto; son, Justin Wiley; and her sisters, Nancy Adams and Claudia (Mike) Putt and their children.

A small, private memorial service will be held with family and close friends on Saturday, April 25.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P. O. Box 650309 Dallas, TX 75265-0309 in Paula’s name.

Rick C. White
July 9, 1954-April 13, 2015

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Rick lost his short battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 60.

He leaves behind a legacy of a loving family, friends, coworkers,and business associates who had the utmost respect for his loyalty, gentle leadership and kindness.

Rick was born in San Francisco and spent his years growing up in the Bay Area.

He graduated from Sunset High School in Hayward, Calif., in 1972.

He attended Chabot College and had a short marriage that gave him his first daughter, Michelle Lynne White (1973).

He worked for Bancheros Italian Restaurant for several years while helping support his daughter.

In 1976 he connected with an old high school friend, Debbie Harrison, and they fell in love and got married in 1977.

He started working for Piedmont Lumber in Walnut Creek in 1977 until he was promoted to manager of their new store in Lakeport in 1983.

During this time three more children were born: Casey James White (1978), Levi Robert White (1980) and Mallory B White (1984).

During his time with Piedmont Lumber, Rick facilitated sponsoring more than 60 little league teams and coached his children from Tee Ball to Senior League in Kelseyville Little League.

He was president of the Kelseyville Little League and helped bring it out of bankruptcy in the 1980s with the help of a group of parents.

Rick was an avid Giants fan all of his life so the family attended many games together and his teams were the Giants or wore black and orange uniforms.

Rick was a mentor to many youth and was an exemplary role model to all the young people he coached.

During his employment with Piedmont, as manager, he authorized the funding of community projects, donations to hundreds of non-profits, supplies to schools, Eagle Scout projects, building supplies for community projects, and discounts for a multitude of projects for the elderly or disabled.

Piedmont closed their doors in 2010 after the recession and Mendo Mill acquired the business and kept the employees and Rick as manager.

He managed the Mendo Mill store in Lakeport until his last day on April 13, 2015.

He was admired and respected by the community, his coworkers, his business associates and management.

He was preceded in death by his father (Robert) and his mother (Belle).

He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Debbie; children, Michelle Lynne (Dave), Casey James (Marlena), Levi Robert (Tyler), Mallory B; sister, Robin White-Ray (Dave); grandchildren, Ashley, Mike, Carson, Fiona, Owen, Ricky, Liz and Junior; his beloved nieces and nephews, Cody, Marissa, Arin, Danielle; in-laws, Jim and Barbara Harrison; sister-in-law, Denise Harrison; and so many loving cousins and extended family and friends.

We are honoring Rick by completing his “bucket list” dream trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown with his family.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Israel Jesus Nava, 31, of Kelseyville passed away April 5, 2015, in Clifton, Colo.

He was born in Santa Rosa, Calif., to Patricia McKay and Israel Mora Nava.

He was a devout Catholic and an accomplished cook.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Randie Marie Haack; sons, Israel Jesus Nava Jr., Rodolfo Nava Haack and Lorenzo Cruz Nava Haack; and daughter, Jazmyn Rose Nava.

Sadly he was predeceased by his Mother, Patricia.

He will live on in the hearts of all his family; father and stepmother Israel (Lupe) Nava; brothers, Israel and Jorge; sisters, Alma Rosa, Norma Leticia, Juana Erica, Maribel, Maria Guadalupe, Nancy Alejandra, Maria De Jesus Nava and Tina (Chris) Cresswell; and their children, Jeffery, Justin, Christina Johnson and son William Cresswell; sister, Stefanie Valencia and husband Rodolfo Ceja; niece, Soledad (Ezequiel) Jimenez and daughter Alyanna and Annaleah; niece, Esperanza Briones (fiancé Macario Tejeda) and children Arianna and Dominic, also Estefani Briones, Elizabeth Ceja, Isabel Ceja.

He will be sorely missed by his extended family, inlaws William Hack III (Sierra Lokens); daughter, Lexiss; sisters-in-law, Sarah (Carlos) Leyva and their three children, Alayana, Anabelle, and Armani; sister-in-law Corrie and fiancé Mathew and son Takoda Mitchell.

His memory shall live on with many more family and friends.

A vigil was held for him at Big Valley Rancheria from Monday, April 13, to Wednesday, April 15, followed by a funeral service.

Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Shiloh Cemetery District in Windsor. There will be a potluck reception in Santa Rosa afterward.
