Jesus Velarde

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – Jesus Velarde entered into rest at his home in Middletown on Monday, Nov. 6, surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Tepache, Sonora, Mexico, Jesus lived in Lake County for 51 years.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Franklin Velarde; daughters, Claudia Torres and Juanita Velarde; granddaughters, Brenda Torres, Cristina Torres, Gabriella Vasquez and Eve Pike; grandsons, Mauricio Torres and Scotty Velarde; great-grandsons, Xavier Torres, Jasiah Pike, Manuel Pike and Leland Pike; daughter-in-law, Serena Velarde; and son-in-law, Melesio Torres.

Jesus was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lila Lee Simon.

A visitation will be held at the family home on Wednesday, Nov. 15, beginning at 4 p.m.

Interment will follow on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Middletown Rancheria.
