CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Reno Joseph Gussoni Jr., age 59, of Clearlake, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at Adventist Health Clear Lake.

He was born in San Francisco on Sept. 11, 1958, to Reno Gussoni Sr. and Joan Gussoni. Reno and his two siblings, Ken and Serena, grew up in South San Francisco and graduated from El Camino High School.

On Feb. 8, 1986, Reno married the love of his life, Joanne Bielasz, in Reno, Nev.

Reno is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joanne; daughter, Roxanne; son, Jerry; and his four grandkids, Mayson, Mariah, Miles and Athena. Reno is also survived by his mother, Joan.

In 1993, Reno and his family moved to Lake County in search of a place to call home. Finding work as a painter and carpenter, mainly working for the Hoberg and Emerson families, Reno and Joanne were able to raise their children.

In 2002, Jerry gave him his first grandchild, Mayson, then Mariah in 2004 and Miles in 2011. His daughter, Roxanne, made him a grandpa for the fourth time with Athena in 2014. These four grandchildren made him so proud of his family and what he had accomplished in his life.

After many years of sharing his favorite hobby, fishing, with his son, Reno was now able to pass his love and knowledge of fishing onto his grandkids.

In 2016, Reno started a new chapter of his life when he began working at Walmart in Clearlake. Taking pride in his position as a freezer/deli stocker, Reno made it his goal to be the best stocker he could, helping customers with shopping or just bringing a smile to their life. He treated each person with kindness and respect.

The inner child of Reno took hold of him every holiday, as he looked forward to playing Easter Bunny and Santa. His goal was to not only bring joy to the kids, but to also show everyone the joys of keeping our inner child alive.

Reno may have been taken too soon from this world, but his spirit will live on through his family and all of those whose hearts he touched.
