Vernon G. Davis, “Jerry,” age 70, died from a natural causes on April 13, 2016, in Portland, Ore.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1946, to parents Vernon and Aletta. He grew up in Oklahoma and Southern California.

Jerry lived in Northern California (Lake County) for many years with his then-wife, Linda, and their children while running their family businesses (Gene’s Fountain and Lower Lake Feed).

Eventually Jerry moved to  the Pacific Northwest, where he resided for the past 22 years. While living in Vancouver, Wash., he met his late wife, Tracy. He and Tracy retired together with their bulldogs to Ocean Park. 

Jerry was well known for his gruff voice and vibrant personality. He enjoyed chatting with all he encountered, almost anything was a topic of conversation, he was an gun enthusiast, enjoyed old cars and the beach.

He was a member of The Moose Lodge, Beach Barons Car Club in Ocean Park, Wash., and the Masonic Lodges in Clearlake and San Jose, Calif. He enjoyed his “retirement” by running Bulldog Firearms.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Carrie (Ellcessor) and her husband Josh, of Brentwood, Calif.; his son, Matthew and his wife Donna of Sacramento; his siblings, Shelia (Henness) and brother Allen. He is also leaving behind three granddaughters, Ashley, Lauren and Elizabeth, and grandson Miles, along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Tracy, and his parents.
