CLEARLAKE, Calif. – On Thursday, May 26, golf carts will be crisscrossing the Hidden Valley Lake Golf Course at St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake’s 12th annual Charity Golf Tournament and Silent Auction.

The golfers will be traveling the 18 holes of the course in support of those in the community without access to reliable transportation as the hospital raises funds for its More Than Wheels Campaign.

The always-popular event will include contests, prizes, a barbecue dinner and a silent auction.

The tournament returns to Hidden Valley Lake’s course after the cancellation of the 2015 event due to the Valley Fire.

“It is so great to see everyone having a fantastic time out on the course,” said Philip “Flip” Fitch, the tournament director and a member of the surgical services team at St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake. “It’s even more rewarding to know that the event is supporting a great cause.”

The More Than Wheels Campaign is raising funds to purchase an additional patient transport vehicle, pay for a driver’s salary for one year and to establish an “After Hours” fund to cover cab and bus fare.

Patient transportation is a key need, and the hospital is thankful for the many partners who understand the importance of ensuring patients have access to the quality care they need.
