The US Geological Survey said the quake occurred at 11:50 a.m. Monday.
It was centered 4.7 miles south of Cobb, 12.7 miles northeast of Healdsburg and 14.9 miles south-southwest of Clearlake.
A US Geological Survey map showed the quake occurred just inside the Sonoma County at the Lake-Sonoma line near Ridge Road.
It was recorded at a depth of 1.2 miles, the survey reported.
Within a few hours of the quake’s occurrence, 655 reports from people who felt it were submitted to the US Geological Survey.
Those quake reports came from zip codes around Lake County, the North Coast, the Bay Area and as far away as La Mesa, Oceanside and Salinas, as well as Glenbrook, Nevada.
