CLEARLAKE, Calif. – A host of golden daffodils planted last fall by members of Citizens Caring 4 Clearlake look cheerful at the entrance to Clearlake.

CC4C, under the umbrella of NCO, a nonprofit, will be hosting a benefit garden tour, “The Gems of Clearlake,” on Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Gardens at six residences in Clearlake will be on spring display.

Tickets are available for $20 by calling 707-701-3554.

CC4C is a volunteer organization that removes litter and blight in Clearlake. The group’s motto this year is “Stay Clean in ’17.”

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – William Robert Patrick, aka Pat Patrick, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, husband, brother and friend, passed away on Feb. 5, 2017, in Santa Rosa.

William was born in Montgomery County, Ohio, on Dec. 20, 1942, to parents Gloria Mae West and Robert Patrick.

He lived in Willits, Calif., for some time before moving to Lake County in 1970.

He was a retired truck driver and had many passions in life including ranch living, riding motorcycles, football, exercise and astrology.

He loved to spend time with family and friends, sharing stories of the past and dreams for the future.

William had a large family and many friends who love him deeply. He will be missed greatly.

There will be a celebration of William’s life on a later date.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The city of Lakeport reported Tuesday that the section of Lakeshore Boulevard between Giselman Street and Lange Street has been reopened.

That portion of the street has been under an extended closure due to the ongoing flood event.

Lane controls are in place near the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard and Jones Street due to roadway safety concerns near the shoreline, the city said.

Motorists are reminded that they must use caution and reduce speed while driving in this area as lanes sizes may be as narrow as 9 feet.

The Lakeport Police Department will be monitoring this are closely and issuing tickets to motorists not exhibiting safe driving practices.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Lakeport, State of California, will hold a public hearing for the development of a new commercial building. The project applicants are Charles Smyth, Market Street Development, LLC.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – North Coast Opportunities Inc. has established a donation fund for local families who have been displaced by the recent flooding.

Donations can be made at the NCO Web page at www.ncoinc.org/ .

The organization said assistance is needed to help the many families that have been displaced since Feb. 20.
