Easter service planned at Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The service at the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County for Sunday, April 5, is entitled, “Resurrection: A Story for All Ages."

The service begins at 11 a.m. at the church, located at 3810 Main St. in Kelseyville.

Guests are welcome.

The sermon will be presented by member Clovice A. Lewis Jr.

He will look at the concept of resurrection as a common theme in many religious traditions, and will provide a counterpoint to prevailing religious concepts of resurrection.

Lewis will use the biblical account of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus as an example of how important it is to apply reason to any story of resurrection.

“Stories of resurrection are just that ... stories for us to imagine ways to make what seems impossible possible,” Lewis said. “I invite you, in this Easter season, to embrace the fact that you can consciously and purposefully change your life. You can be happy, you can reinvent yourself; you can resurrect yourself ... in this life. You don't have to wait to die. Most of us will find that we have enough time on this planet to master the art of resurrection if we don't indulge in self-pity. You will find that with regular practice, resurrection is, ultimately, good for the soul."
