LAKEPORT – Victor Hugo once said, “Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot stay silent.”

It is one of the reasons music is so important. It gives us a vehicle to express our joy as well as our sense of community.

At 4 p.m. Saturday, April 17, several of the various musical groups at United Christian Parish have chosen some of their favorite music to share in a free concert open to the community.

The concert will be about an hour long and feature the music of the praise band Wing & A Prayer, the Chancel Choir, Beaus & Belles (an English hand bell ensemble) and organist Mel Taylor.

There is no charge for the ticket but there will be a free will offering and a panoply of desserts available to take home from a silent auction.
