Sandra Wade will hold her twice-weekly gentle yoga classes to the Lucerne Community Clinic.

LUCERNE – Yoga instructor Sandra Wade has moved her twice-weekly class from the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center to the Lucerne Community Clinic at the corner of 14th Ave. and Highway 20.

She said the gentle class is appropriate for beginners, seniors and the mildly disabled.

She has been a massage therapist, yoga instructor and holistic health guide since 1982, and has been involved in the literary community of Lake County since 1978. She served as the county’s fourth Poet Laureate from 2006 to 2008.

Born in England during World War II, she has an honors degree from London University and taught and translated European languages (German, French, Spanish, ESL) in England and Lake County until 1979.

She often reads her work at local events. She also helps recruit students for the Poetry Out Loud program, a high-school competition that encourages the study and presentation of well-established poem in the English cannon. On her CD “From There to Here,” Wade reads a selection of her work over the past 20 years.
