Carle Chronicle: Season's greetings from the students

Season's greetings from here at Carlé!

First up, we would like to welcome our new students to the Carlé atmosphere. Kenneth Horton, Geneva Hudson, William McAllister, Deserae Shackleford, Amanda Tchamourian and Kinesha Wilson – we look forward to the great things you are going to produce.

Also, we would like to congratulate Jamila Parker and Marisa Tagle for both giving their senior portfolio presentations here in the next two weeks, and Shawna Griffith, Sarah Roath and Kristina Micheletti for graduating.

Paige Salvante also deserves the utmost congratulations for being the first student in Carlé history to organize and execute the first class for students and teachers alike. I was in attendance for this class, and it was extremely fun, informative, and went over without a hitch.

We¹d also like to thank Allen Markowski for helping our after school guitar program run so fluidly. We wouldn't be able to do it without him. We¹re very grateful for Tracy Skeen, principal of Cobb Mountain Elementary, and also Jessica and Marc Morita for giving students Faron Moran (who ran the technology of the presentation) and charismatic Marquice Lamar the opportunity to give a speech to elementary school kids.

This is the start of our third grading period, and also the start of the 2008 holiday season.

Every year we have our own white elephant celebration on the last day before winter break starts, where each student brings one gift to give to another, or to exchange with another. This is always a great, fun way to kick off the break.

The Carlé Interact Club helped the Rotary Club in serving more than 1,000 people free meals, and giving away 700 gifts, and we thank them for the opportunity to help, but more so for providing so much for the community. Those students involved were Alex Huff, Amy Reis, Chris Clark, Patrick Roberts, Jasmine Andrews and Stacey Fedewa.

In addition, the Carlé choir is performing at the Meadowwood senior center and Yuba Community

College on Dec. 12. We wish you happy holidays from here at Carlé!

Well, attending Carlé been by far one of the most amazing experiences I've ever lived through, and I'm going to miss it dearly. I've enjoyed writing these articles a lot, and I'm going to miss doing this too.

This is my farewell article, because I'm graduating on Dec. 19. Amanda Tchamourian is taking my place, and there couldn¹t be a better successor than her. Thank you for reading.

Bryan Lane is a student at Carlé High School in Lower Lake.
