Carle Chronicle: Students proud of Cabaret

The Cabaret was a great success! Everyone involved worked as hard as they could to make it an enjoyable event for all who attended. All of the students who helped and attended the Cabaret had a great time, and were very proud of being a part of such a fabulous event.

Many of the students were nervous about how it would go, especially those that were performing, but

afterwards they were very happy with how it went. They shared their opinions, and thought it should become an annual event, because of how successful it was.

“The Cabaret was very fun,” said Jenna Ortega. “The community got to see how we interact at Carle, and it brought the Carle family closer together.”

Another student who participated, Faron Moran said, “If you had been there, you wouldn't want to leave.”

Courtney Montiel said, “Everybody worked hard as a community to get tasks done.”

The community at Carle is definitely what makes us shine. Courtney Lawson had this to say about the how the Cabaret turned out: “I think we impressed the audience. We wanted everyone to feel like they got their $20 worth.”

Students who were working and performing all enjoyed the Cabaret, and had opinions on their favorite acts. Ayla Hummingbird thought the acting in the “Abusive Boyfriend” skit was very believable. “Did he really hit her? That was an awesome act!” she said.

Steven Negrete, a student who performed himself in the Cabaret, said, “My favorite act was 'The Cell Block Tango.' It was incredible, unbelievable, and hot (tsssss) as a tea kettle.”

No matter who it is, all those who participated in the Cabaret were thoroughly pleased. Monsieur Pierre, a Frenchman and self-proclaimed master of the arts, helped host the Cabaret.

“The best part of the entire event was me of course!” Pierre responded when asked for his favorite performance. “My incredible good looks, unmatched charm and artful finesse are obviously what held the show together!”

Pierre later admitted that “some” of the show's success could be credited to the students and staff that worked hard to help put it all together.

Well, now that the Cabaret is over, we have new events that we can look forward to. Our trip to the Shakespearean festival in Ashland is coming up, and so is our prom!

In terms of holidays, we have the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox on its way! That's right! Easter! Another ancient holiday, with traditions so old that most people don't even know what they mean anymore, but we still have fun painting eggs and biting the heads off of chocolate bunnies, anyway. Whether you celebrate the resurrection of Christ, or honor ancient fertility symbols, the only thing that really matters is that you get candy right? It is in my opinion.

That is all for this week's Chronicle. Thank you for reading!
