LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – North Lake Garden Club had some great news this quarter of 2012.

First, its youth member, Sarah Marsh won an award for her recycle with a purpose sculpture.

The J-14 youth contest was sponsored by the National and California Garden Clubs with Don and Sharon Smith.

As her year project, the president of NLGC, Kimberly Marsh is going to present several trees to Lake County Hospice caregivers on April 21 in Library Park in Lakeport.

The beautiful Chinese Pistasche Trees were donated by Glen Bauer. Members have been transplanting and keeping the 450 seedlings at their homes.

Attendees at the March meeting were delighted by speaker Mary Lou Goodwin, past president of California Garden Clubs. She had everyone designing floral displays of seasonal flowers and greenery.

Everyone enjoyed themselves while making beautiful arrangements to take home.

On April 24, the club will have a plant and seed exchange as well as talk about a wildflower planting project in the community.

The club meets at Lucerne Community Church, 5870 E. Highway 20.

Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. with sharing plants and refreshments. The meeting and workshop will follow.
