Terry Lee Pyers Sr. arrived in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday morning, April 11, 2013. He succumbed to heart disease at the young age of 61.

Terry was born Aug. 14, 1951, and raised in Ohio.

He owned an aquarium/pet store. In 1976, he came west to California. The majority of his career was spent as a contract communication specialist and design engineer to the utilities.

He loved hearing about his children’s lives; had a fondness for “critters,” wild and domestic; enjoyed watching car races on TV, was especially proud of his restored ’57 Chevy Nomad and always found solace in fishing even at an early age.

God answered Terry’s prayer with Linda, his wife of 34 years. They relocated from Santa Clara County to Lakeport and couldn’t believe how blessed they were to retire young and live in this lovely resort community.

Terry is preceded in death by his motherk Donna Pittenger, and his firstborn, Terry Jr. He leaves behind his wife, Linda; daughter, Heather (Dan) Robertson; sons, John Pyers and Seth (Tammy) Pyers; stepson, Scott (Tiffany) Schindler. He was also blessed with nine grandchildren: Alex, Sam, Cammy, Danny, Xavier, Savannah, Ciera, Alexis and Kylie; and one great-grandchild, Molly.

Terry was happiest fishing on “HIS” lake and swapping stories with his fishing buds. After coffee at Hamburger Hill, every day at mid-morning you would find him at the Fifth Street launch ramp.

He enjoyed the camaraderie of the members of the Clearlake Bassmasters and held several offices. Thank you to club members and friend who assisted him on his “bad” days.

Friends and family are welcome to join in our “Celebration of Terry’s Life” at the First Southern Baptist Church of Lakeport on Sunday, at 2 p.m. The Church is located at 1144 Park Way (look for the three crosses behind the fire station).

For further info call Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary in Lakeport, Calif., at 707-263-0357.
