LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Dennis Day passed away peacefully on Dec. 6, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He fought a long and difficult battle with bone cancer.

Dennis served in the Navy on a carrier war ship where he accepted Jesus as his savior.

He was able to travel the world on a Young Men’s Christian Association around the world tour in 1964.

Dennis then began a 32-year career with the phone company where he met his bride of 52 years, Jackie.

He loved the outdoors and all that God created. He backpacked for many years with good friends and had many adventures with them.

Through the years, he was able to travel extensively with his wife, where they met many wonderful lifelong friends.

The annual trip he continued, even through COVID, was to Sea Otter Sound Lodge in Alaska where he fished for 28 years.

He selflessly served his community and his church, and ensured his family and friends knew how much he loved them, through spending time with them; and being there when they needed help.

2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Dennis is survived by his wife Jackie; daughter, Heather; and dog, Duke.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Patricia Jane Beristianos.

She was born on July 25, 1939 in San Francisco, California, to Raymond and Virginia Murray. She attended Capuchino High School in San Bruno, California.

Soon after graduation, Patricia met and married the love of her life, Leon Beristianos, and became a mother to Jay Beristianos. In 1972, Patricia would move her family to Lake County where she quickly established her working career in a community that she loved.

In the years to come, Patricia would become known as “Pat B.” in the County Public Works Department where she would stay until her retirement.

Pat wasn’t one to sit idle, so she added the activities of volunteering at the Upper Lake Fire Protection District, and Secretary of the Upper Lake Cemetery Board to her agenda.

When not at work, Pat could be found on Lake Powell with her husband, relaxing and reading a good book, or at home, playing with her granddaughters, Janie and Jessica.

She was loved for all that she gave to her community and her family. She will be missed immeasurably.

Pat is predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Leon Beristianos, and her parents.

She will be forever remembered by her son, Jay (Lori); granddaughters, Janie (Erik) and Jessica; great-granddaughters, Abby and Emma; her sister, Carol Adamson (Mike); sister-in-law, Karen Petz (Ken); and many nieces and nephews that she adored sharing her life with.

A private family service will be held before the New Year. A celebration of life for Pat’s community will be announced at a later date.

Donations in Pat’s memory can be made to North Shore Fire Protection District, a service very close to her heart, at P.O. Box 1199 Lucerne, CA 95458.
