Laura Ann (Moore) White passed away on Jan. 18, 2008.


She is survived by her mother, JoAnn Moore; son, Brett Draper (wife, Cassandra Draper, granddaughters, Evigene Marie Draper and Semonne Destiny Draper) of Dillon, Mont.; brothers, Darren Moore (fiancee, Lynn), Warren Moore (wife, Sally, and nieces Taylor and Allison), all of Southern California; grandmother Moore of California.


Laura was predeceased by her father, Gene Lee Moore, and grandfathers, Jewell Webb and Roscoe

Moore.


Laura was born Nov. 17, 1963, to Gene and Joann Moore in Livermore, Calif. At age 7 she moved with

her family to Clearlake, where she attended school. When she was 25 she and her family moved to Lake Elsinore, Calif. From there they moved to Dillon, Mont., in 1993 to make a fresh start.


Laura was a kind, giving and caring person. She would help anyone in need and was very dear to

everybody who loved her. She loved watching and playing sports. She was very outgoing and full of

energy. She loved her family and her animals. If you knew her, you would know that she loved her

Raiders and looked forward to watching the games with her son.


She will live in the hearts of everyone who knew her and will never be forgotten.


Services were held Jan. 25, 2008, in Dillon, Mont.

LUCERNE – Services have been scheduled to honor Northshore Fire Captain Dave Fesmire.


A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at the Lucerne Firehouse, 6257 Seventh Ave.


Fesmire died Nov. 20 after a battle with cancer. He was age 55.


The much-beloved member of Northshore Fire Protection District's dedicated staff – who was known to friends as “Fezzy” – was born in Carmichael.


A highly decorated Vietnam veteran, he began his service in the community as a volunteer in 1989, two years after arriving in Lake County.


On the day of his death, the Lake County Board of Supervisors issued a proclamation to Fesmire, honoring him for his service to the community.

Evelyn Leah Sims died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 in Clearlake at age 52.


Mrs. Sims was born in Woodland Aug. 8, 1955. She graduated from Esparto High School in 1973. She worked in Oregon as a forklift driver and laundry worker. The past 15 years she worked as a cook.


Survivors include Mrs. Sims' husband, Michael A. Sims; daughter, Jennifer (Jaime) Zamora of North Carolina; son, Justin Sims of Clearlake; stepson, Michael A. Sims II of Texas; mother, Carol Hilton of Woodland; sisters, Eva (Steve) Mallinson of Texas, Eileen (Neils) Pedersen of Denmark, Kathy (Dave) Roberts of North Highlands; brothers, Rob (Angie) Hilton of Esparto and Ralph Hilton of Utah. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jaime Jr., Zachary, Ronaldo and Shalia; aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by daughter, Mariah; father, Don Hilton; and nephew, Chris Hilton.


The family requests memorials in Mrs. Sims' name be directed to the Justin Sims Contributions at Bank of America, c/o Carol Hilton, 52 Embassy Drive, Woodland, CA 95776 or the Hospice at 1717 S. Main St., Lakeport, CA 95453.


A memorial was held on Dec. 1 at Esparto Countryside Church on Grafton St., with Pastor Pamela Anderson officiating. Jones and Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.

Bud was born Nov. 21, 1937, and passed away peacefully while at home on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007.


He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a much-loved businessman of Lakeport and longtime resident of Nice.


He was a former member of the Lakeport Police Department Reserves, the Lakeport Kiwanis and a current member of Lakeport Rotary International.


He loved his family, his friends, his business and Lake County. He loved to travel with his wife of 36 years, Katsuko. He also enjoyed woodworking, collecting Lionel Trains, coins and stamps, and spending time with his family.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Louella and Earl Edward Wallat Sr.


He is survived by his wife Katsuko; his mother-in-law, Satsuki; his children, Earl “Buddy” Wallat and spouse Cathy of San Bernardino; and Sherry Lelevich and spouse Jeff of Redding; four grandchildren, Justin, Julian, Jason and Jeremy; not to mention his five dogs and two cats.


A memorial service will be held for Bud at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at the Chapel of the Lakes, 1625 High St., Lakeport, CA, with a reception immediately following at the Lakeport Senior Center, 527 Konocti Ave., Lakeport CA 95453.


In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Nice Volunteer Fire Department.

Bernie was born July 30, 1932 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 5, 2007.


He was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant after 23 years after he had seen the world. He was a much loved resident of Clearlake since 1977. He was active in all community projects in Clearlake.


His recognitions include awards for humanitarian of the year, citizen of the year, past president of the Chamber of Commerce. He was known as a relentless volunteer who served his community without hesitation. Bernie, with his wife Jackie, spent much of his free time traveling with the Elk's RV Club.


He loved and treasured each day of his life, he loved his family, his friends, his business and Clearlake. It was the only place he found that he could enjoy all four seasons and not have to shovel snow. Always a stand up guy with a strong hand and a friendly smile, he will be missed by all that knew him.


He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jackie; mother, Ruby; and father, Glenn.


He is survived by his children, Kevin Edwards of Clearlake and Kathy Edwards McNeer of Imperial; sister, Collene, of Cresent City; four grandchildren, John, Chris, Cameron and Hayden; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Pierce.


A funeral service will be held for Bernie at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14 at the Clearlake Elks Lodge, located on the corner of Crawford Ave. and Old Highway 53. A visitation will be held prior and will begin at 10 a.m.

Norman Andrew Dean, Sr., age 79, of Mangum, Okla., passed away early Saturday, October 6, 2007, at the V A Hospital in Oklahoma City.


Norman was born on February 18, 1928, in Granite, to Alvin Edgar and Verla (Evans) Dean. On February 26, 1946, he was inducted into the Army Air Corp and proudly served his country until February 3, 1949. On June 1, 1957, he married Marcella Marion Bachmann in Petaluma, California.


A 30-year Master Mason and auto mechanic, he loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Norman served Lower Lake, California as the assistant fire chief for 12 years and as chief for eight years before moving to Mangum in 2004. He also was a certified emergency medical technician.


Norman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Sharyl Lynn Dean; one brother, George Olin Dean; and one sister, Daloma Marie Fanozzi.


He is survived by two sons, Norman Dean, Jr. and wife Laura of Auburn, California and Kenny Alvin Dean of California; four grandchildren, Gina Marie Dean, Michael Rogar, Christopher Rogar and Joseph Cary; two brothers, Tom Dean of California and Eddie Dean of New Jersey; one sister, Kay Poe of California; along with many other relatives and friends.


Inurnment was Oct. 13, 2007 at the Granite City Cemetery, Granite, Okla. A service has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on Nov. 10, 2007, at First Baptist Church of El Sobrante, 4555 Hilltop Drive, El Sobrante, CA 94803.
