Mrs. Dorothy (Hines) Eickhoff, 93, passed away on July 18, 2015, in Fresno, Calif.

The youngest of eight children, Dorothy was born on Feb. 16, 1922 in Jackson, Miss.

She married Greg Eickhoff on March 29, 1941, and then moved to Lakeport, Calif., after Greg left military service in 1945. In Lakeport, they raised four children before ultimately settling in Clovis, Calif., in 1990.

A southern belle with a feisty spirit, Dorothy enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles, cockatiels and cocktails.

Her quiet faith and love for her husband brought her immense joy, and her love for off-color songs and jokes brought joy and laughter to all those around her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her dearly loved husband of 51 years.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Vicki (Eickhoff) and Gary Hendrickson (Clovis); Cindy (Eickhoff) and Ron Kiggins (Fresno); Greg and Mary Eickhoff (Dangarsleigh, NSW, Australia); and Melissa (Eickhoff) and Joe Davis (Clovis); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren (who affectionately called her Mimi). We’ll all miss her greatly.

No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one’s favorite charity in memory of Dorothy Eickhoff.

He later acquired his real estate license and returned to Lakeport to join his brother, Les Aaker and sister Marlene Ivicevich at Aaker Realty.

He met his companion Consuelo in 1989 and then went on to own and operate the Lamplighter in Clear Lake and a coffee shop in Lower Lake.

Our family is saddened by our loss, but are comforted and left joyful by all the memories that we share.

Our father instilled a love for learning and cultivated the spirit of fun in our family. He enjoyed all sports, especially the SF Giants and SF 49ers.

He loved to fish, swim, dance and play games in which he instilled those values in each of us.

The family invites anyone whose lives were touched by Lee to attend his memorial service this weekend. The Lake County Military Funeral Honors Team will perform the three-volley rifle salute and the playing of “Taps” at the Hartley Cemetery Veteran’s Circle, located at 2552 Hill Road, Lakeport, on Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m.
