LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – George L. Adams passed away on Oct. 7, 2017, at the age of 78.

He is survived by his loving wife, Andrea; his stepdaughter, Sarah; son-in-law, Wesley Ware; and his step-son, Jesse Ellsworth.

George was a general contractor in Lake County for many years. He helped make many people's dreams come true by building beautiful custom homes for them.

George loved salmon fishing, and spent most summers at the ocean on his boat "Gypsy Lady."

He will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St. in Lakeport, on Friday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Robert S. "Bob" Chalk left us on Sept. 27, 2017.

Bob was born on March 5, 1954, to William "Bill" and Floraine Chalk. Bob's entire life was spent in Lake County. He was a graduate of Kelseyville High School, Yuba Junior College with a degree in criminal justice and the F.B.I. Academy.

Bob's entire career was spent in law enforcement, beginning in high school as a police cadet. In 1975, he joined Lake County Sheriff Office as a deputy sheriff. In 1981, he began working with Clearlake Police Department and was second-in-command for nearly a decade. In 1993, Bob was appointed chief of police, a position he held until his retirement in 2007.

Following retirement, Bob and his wife, Marsha, enjoyed spending time with their dog, "Daisy," traveling in their motor home, and riding his motorcycle to attend motorcycle rallies.

Bob is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marsha Chalk; brother, William "Billy” Chalk; brother-in-law, Michael "Mike” Jones (Mary); three stepchildren, Ryan James, Marissa James and Johnny James; uncle, Floyd (Betty) Saderlund; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob is predeceased by his parents, William "Bill" and Floraine Chalk, and his sister-in-law, Joy Chalk.

A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary in Lakeport on Friday, Oct. 6, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a procession to Kelseyville Cemetery lead by Clearlake Police Department and a reception at Kelseyville Presbyterian Church on Third and Church street.

CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – Frank Elmer Kosar Jr., 61, passed suddenly at his home in Clearlake Oaks on March 9, 2017, from an aortic aneurysm.

Frank was born in Hinsdale, Indiana, on Dec. 21, 1955, to Frank Kosar Sr., and Norma Tree Kosar.

Frank moved to Lake County, Calif., in 1988 and lived in Hidden Valley Lake.

Frank worked for Hidden Valley Lake Association as a security guard in 1991, where he met Diana.

They soon become the closest and most trusted of friends, and quickly became devoted to one another. They married in 1998.

Frank then worked for Homestake Mining Co, in Lower Lake until it closed in 2002, Frank went to work for Barrick Gold Mine in Nevada until Homestake called him back to assist in the closing of the mine.

Frank then went to work for Calpine as a steam field operator for over 12 years. He was very excited about his job at Calpine, and he would often comment, “It’s like I died and went to job heaven.”

Frank loved Mother Nature and enjoyed being outdoors. Frank especially enjoyed the forest and redwoods on the coast. He and Diana would go as often as possible.

Frank also enjoyed his family, including watching his grandboys in their many sports activities and assisting them in their many interests.

Frank really enjoyed watching his favorite college games, Notre Dame was his favorite. He also enjoyed watching other teams and especially the Bears!

Frank was a very loving and giving man. He always saw good in everyone and would do what he could to help anyone in any situation. Frank is most assuredly loved and missed by many.

Frank is survived by his wife and most trusted friend for over 25 years, Diana; daughter, Heather (Jeff) Smart; grandboys, Jordan Shaffer, Bailey Smart and Kyle Smart; mother-in-law, Ginger Hartner; sister-in-laws, Terri Hartner, Laurie (Matt) Krmpotic and Therese Hartner; nieces, Kayla Krmpotic, Jacquline Rodriguez, Janelle Jones and Alisha Hartner; nephews, Kurt Krmpotic and Brian Garner; father, Frank Kosar Sr., brothers, Wylee Kosar, and Keith Kosar, sisters, Kathleen Koope and Laura Vannucci-Kosar.

Frank is preceded in death by his mother, Norma Tree Kosar; brother, Matthew Kosar Sr.; daughter, Amber Stapp; father-in-law, Robert Hartner Sr.; and brother-in-law, Robert Hartner Jr.

There will be a celebration of Frank’s life in December.
