The event will take place at the Lakeport Yacht Club, 15 Fifth Street, Lakeport.

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Claire Marie Kugelman Kropp, 63, born March 22, 1950, in Vallejo, Calif., died peacefully at home in Clearlake on Sept. 8, 2013.

She was the loving wife of the late Richard Kropp and daughter of the late Kenneth L. Kugelman.

A graduate of Hogan High School in Vallejo, she studied music at Sonoma State and San Jose State.

She loved her cats, the Beatles, Blues, Rockabilly, yard plants and traveling.

Claire is survived by her mother, Edna Kugelman; sisters, Karen Rubino and Linda Miller; brothers, John Kugelman and Ken Kugelman; nephews; nieces; and cousins.

She was buried in Lower Lake, Calif.

Appropriate memorial donations may be sent to any agency or organization advocating for animals, environment, the poor, disabled, Shriners Hospitals or hospice.

Jeanne Elsie Clapper passed away peacefully at her San Lorenzo, Calif., home on Sept. 25, 2013, after 92 wonderful years.

Jeanne was born July 8, 1921, the daughter of Herbert and Elsie Franzman.

The family moved to Oakland shortly after her birth and Jeanne graduated from Oakland Tech High School. She entered UC Berkeley in 1939 and after World War II and three children, she earned her teaching credential from San Jose State in 1959.

She is survived by her three children, Jay of San Ramon, Marjean (Dave) Johnson and Lita Clapper of San Lorenzo, along with her sister Joann Deacon of Kelseyville. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Marvin, her parents and her sister, Janet Franzman.

Besides her family, music and education were Jeanne's passion. Jeanne's father bought her a harp when she was 9 years old and she went on to play in the San Francisco Youth Symphony, the San Leandro Symphony and the Oakland Symphony.

During her time living in Lake County after retirement she was a founding member of the Clearlake Performing Arts.

Jeanne and Marvin opened their home to exchange students Christine Raspillere of France and Timo Petteri Vuorio of Finland, both of whom have kept in contact with Jeanne.

Jeanne's teaching career spanned 22 years, all at Del Rey Elementary School in San Lorenzo. She always looked forward to the last day of school, when many of her former students would stop by to say hello.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Jackie Funcheon for her loving care in Jeanne's final days.

HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE, Calif. – Ann Walker, a 40-year resident of Hidden Valley Lake and one of God's special human beings, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013. She was 89.

Ann spent her whole life helping others, especially those in need.

Always smiling and having a positive outlook, she made everybody feel better about themselves.
She will be missed.

Ann is survived by her son Jack (Elizabeth) La Caze; grandchildren, Cindy Mitchum and Jeff La Caze; great-grandchildren, Kailli and Cole Mitchum; and special friends forever, Betty Winfrey and Frank Haigler.

Ann will be laid to rest at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.

Donald George Weaving passed away peacefully Sept. 24, 2013.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Florine Watson Weaving.

Shortly after his birth on Dec. 16, 1931 in Albany, Calif., his family relocated to his grandparent's ranch in Scotts Valley, outside of Lakeport, Calif. He attended school in Lakeport until his graduation in 1949.

From 1950 until 1954 he served in the U.S. Air Force as a crew chief on flights evacuating the wounded during the Korean War.

He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service in San Leandro until his retirement in 1987. While a letter carrier, he also established an income tax service with longtime friend and business partner, Linda Warren. This business still exists in the Bay Area and Lakeport.

Subsequent to leaving the Postal Service, he returned to his beloved Lake County, enjoying his retirement with bass fishing, relaxation, traveling, and attending the Lucerne Community Church.

Don is also survived by several children and stepchildren, Keith (Jessica) Weaving of Tracy, Calif, Donnie (Debra) Weaving of Reno, Nev., Bill Birdsell of Kanosh, UT, Bud Birdsell of Reno, Nev., Glenda Pimentel of Nice, Calif., Lonnie Watson of Vacaville, Calif., and Tommy (Maria) Watson of Clearlake, Calif. Also surviving him are many grandchildren and cousins.

A warm and loving man, he will be missed by all.

At 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, there will be a final prayer at Hartley Cemetery led by Pastor Chuck Rowen.

James Arthur Ryan Jr., 60, passed away of natural causes on Aug. 26, 2013, at his home in Clearlake, Calif.

He was born on May 19, 1953, in San Francisco to James and Estelle Ryan.

Growing up in Pacifica, Calif., he attended Westview Elementary School and graduated from Terra Nova High School in 1971.

As a member of Second Battalion, Platoon 2040, he completed Marine Basic Training in June 1975.

Known to friends and family as Jim or Jimmy, from an early age he had an interest in any type of vehicle with a motor. From mini bikes and motorcycles, to cars and trucks, he enjoyed tinkering with any he owned.

Jim was a free spirit, traveling around the country as he wished, making an honest living taking advantage of any employment opportunity which came his way.

He was a lover of dogs, spending the last 11 years of his life with his canine companion Spankers at his side.

He will be missed and remembered by more than he would ever know.

Jim was predeceased by his father, James, and is survived by his mother, Estelle; sister, Janet; brothers, David, Daniel and Tom; daughters, Juliet and Lizzie; son, Brian; and six grandchildren.

Jim will be remembered at a private memorial gathering of family and friends.
