Joshua Dylan Phillips-Blair made his debut on Feb. 16, 1992, and the curtain fell on his short but intensely meaningful life Sept. 29, 2013.

Currently there is no known cause; drugs and alcohol were not a part of his life or his death.

Joshua had a flair for life that made the world a brighter place for everyone who came in contact with him, whether it was for years or just moments.

He left a loving imprint on the lives of many, and would have done so much more. He was on his way to becoming a kindergarten teacher.

Joshua has said that before he discovered theater he didn’t have a place to belong, but after finding it he found where his people truly were.

A whirlwind of talent and creativity, Joshua breathed life into many roles with the local theater company, including the Scarecrow in “The Wizard of Oz,” Ellard in “The Foreigner” and Ken in “Rumors,” to name a few.

But his breakout role, and the one he is best known for, was Riff Raff in the 2010 production of “The Rocky Horror Show,” where he met and fell in love with his wife, Maheanani Phillips-Blair.

Joshua leaves behind his wife, Maheanani; daughter, Olive Ruth; and his unborn child due in March 2014, all of whom he loved with everything he had.

He also leaves behind his father and stepmother, Philip and Angela Blair; mother and stepfather, Diane Blair-Anderson and Kevin Anderson; brother, Joseph Blair; three sisters, Kristain Blair, Vanessa Black and Desire Black; even grandparents; and countless family and friends.

Joshua’s celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the MAC building at Clear Lake High School, the stage Joshua first performed on as Eugene in “Grease.”

The family asks that you come in bright colors or costumes. Please leave your black suit at home; no one wants to see it.

Cheese’s Main Street Pizza, where Joshua worked, is having an all-day benefit on Sunday, Oct. 6; all profits from the day will be given to the family.

Please call 707-972-5787 and ask for Tim for any questions concerning the memorial or pizza benefit day. You can also preorder for the benefit day at 707-263-0777. There will be a donation jar on site, and you can also donate at http://www.gofundme.com/4lu5i8 .
