LAKEPORT, Calif. — Stephen Anthony Kacharos passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 3, 2023, at his home in Lakeport.

He will be deeply missed, but there is more solace than sorrow in knowing that he lived a good, long life filled with love, adventure, and purpose.

He was born Sept. 26, 1935, to Peter and Fanny Kacharos and was raised in Mill Valley, California with his older sister and younger brother, Katherine, and Andrew.

He is survived by his three children, Douglas, David and Sandra; his beloved grandchildren, Douglas II and Serena; and his great-grandson, Zekiel.

Steve loved golf and home cooked meals. He appreciated horses, goats, dogs, cats and quail. He built cars, boats and beautiful homes, and was a fantastic plumber.

He was honest. You could count on him. He was a good son, a devoted father, a wonderful grandfather and great friend.

A memorial ceremony will be held at Kelseyville Cemetery, 3375 Bell Hill Road on Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of his life at the family residence in Lakeport.

Arrangements by Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 707-263-0357 or 707-994-5611, or visit www.chapelofthelakes.com.
