LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Mary “Kay” Katherine Ridgeway, 77, passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2017.

Kay was born May 15, 1940, in Kelseyville, Calif., to Dutch and Margaret Lauenroth.

Kay grew up and went to school in Kelseyville. After graduating High School, Kay attended Shasta College in Redding, Calif. She then moved to San Francisco, where she was employed at Baker & Hamilton.

It was there that Kay met the love of her life Jimmy Ridgeway. The two were soon married and the couple moved back to Kelseyville to raise their two sons, Tim and Kenny.

Kay was employed at the United States Post Office in Kelseyville until her retirement.

Kay was always active in the community and she was a member of Rebekah’s and The Native Daughters of the Golden West.

Kay had many friends and she held them close to her heart. Kay had a deep love for her family, Lake County history and loved to share her stories with all. She had an exceptional memory and could remember the name and their birthday of someone she met 30 years ago.

Her loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We can take comfort in the fact that she has been reunited with her husband and parents.

Kay is survived by her sons, Tim Ridgeway and Kenny (Kristine) Ridgeway; grandson, Justin Ridgeway; her brother, Paul (Cindy) Lauenroth; nieces, Carrie Lauenroth and Sheri Knight; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at the Chapel of the Lakes, 1625 N. High St, Lakeport, with a reception to follow at Riviera Heights Clubhouse located at 3034 Riviera Heights Drive in Kelseyville.
