Bernice Marilyn Hudson
Dec. 10, 1931-Feb. 16, 2016

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Bernice Marilyn Hudson, 84, returned to her heavenly home on Feb. 16, 2016, after a brief battle with illness.

Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Bernice was born to the late Martin Reidenbach and Minnie Vienop, in Napa, Calif., on Dec 10, 1931.

She was immersed and an active part of the Lake County community for 58 years. She was a good Christian, amazing mom and grandma – to all the children in her life, a faithful friend and coworker.

Bernice was born and raised in Napa where she met her former husband and worked several years at the Veteran’s Home before heading off to Texas for a few years.

Bernice returned to California and moved to Lake County in 1957 where she lived out her life.

Bernice had a day care in her home for many years. In the early 1970s Bernice was elected as the city clerk for the city of Lakeport where she worked 23 years until her retirement. She loved her job as the city clerk, working with so many wonderful people over the years.

She had a passion for gardening and working in the yard, she even worked in her children’s yards. She was an avid bowler for many years, going back to the old Lakeshore bowling alley.

Bernice was a huge sports fan – football, baseball, golf, tennis – and look out if her team or sportsperson lost.

Bernice touched many a life during her time on this Earth and you all know who you are. She was our angel here on Earth. She will be truly be missed by all who knew her.

Bernice is survived by her daughter, Nancy; and her son Steve; her grandson, Kory; and granddaughter Brianna (Jonelle Sornes, mom)

Bernice’s services will be held at First Lutheran Church, 3863 Country Club Dr. in Lucerne at 11 a.m. Feb. 26, followed by her burial at Hartley Cemetery, 2552 Hill Road East in Lakeport at 1 p.m.

There will be a reception following her burial at The Elks Lodge, 3775 Lakeshore Blvd., Lakeport.

Pastor Chris DelCol will officiate the services.

The family gratefully declines flowers, but asks that you please make your donations to the First Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 458, Lucerne, CA. 95458.
