Steven Peck, DDS
May 30, 1924 – Dec. 19, 2015

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Steve passed gently at home surrounded by family and friends.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, and best friend, Florence Peck; his children, April Scott, Steven Peck, Hunter Alexander and Sheralyn Riewerts; their spouses and eight grandchildren; and, of course, his beloved Boston Terrier, Barney Googles.

Steve had many successes and full chapters in his life: 25 years in dentistry both in private practice and while serving as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy; gentleman farmer (vineyards and citrus orchards); Enrolled Agent and bookstore owner.

He enjoyed an array of activities over the years; handball and racquetball; hiking the Pacific Coast Trail with his son; bowling leagues; competing in Senior Track until the age of 70; stamp collecting and boating.

Son of Charles and Ada Lauppe, born and raised in Carmichael, Calif; the Lauppe/Peck lineage runs over a century deep in Sacramento County.

In his 91 years his life took him to San Jose, Pleasanton, Danville and then retiring to Lake County in 1989 (Kelseyville and Lakeport).

He and Florence married in Clearlake Park at the family waterfront cabin in 1981. Here at the lake he was known by many as president of the Lake County Stamp and Coin Club and owner/operator of Vintage Books.

No services will be held. Instead the family will hold a celebration of life memorial on his birthday.

The family suggests donations be made to the Kelseyville High School Track and Field program in his memory. Steve was always strong supporter of youth athletic programs, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events as often as possible.

His family lovingly deemed him the “The Voice of Reason.” Everyone will remember him as a man of character, a true old fashion gentleman and for his devotion to family.

He will forever be loved and treasured by all those who knew him.
