LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Henry (Hank) Bartolucci, 93, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, July 18, 2015.

Henry was born in St. Helena, Calif., and was the third son of Andrea and Gulierma Bartolucci.

Henry graduated from Napa High, attended college at UC Davis, married Jewell in 1943, had two children, Ronald and Judith, and was a successful vintner along with his brothers Louis and Bruno Bartolucci.

They sold their winery and vineyards in 1971 in the Napa Valley and Henry and his wife, Jewell, moved to Lake County.

There, Henry and his son, Ronald purchased land and developed vineyards beginning in 1972 and formed Bartolucci Vineyards Inc. The Bartolucci lake house was the hub of gatherings for family and friends.

After the passing of Jewell he then met and married Bernice in 1982. The two of them enjoyed dancing, traveling, and entertaining family and friends.

His love of agriculture made him well known for his green thumb and an amazing garden. Those who knew him best knew there was always a project at the Bartolucci's.

Some of his accomplishments include being a World War II veteran, a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church for more than 38 years where some of his contributions are still standing, a member of St. Anthony's Italian Catholic Federation of Manteca, Napa Elks, Yountville Volunteer Fireman’s Association, North Coast Grape Growers Association and Lake County Grape Growers Association.

Henry was preceded by his wife, Jewell; brothers, Louis and Bruno; and daughter, Judith Gomez.

Henry is survived by wife, Bernice; son, Ronald (Sondra); sister, Eda Gonsalves; son-in-law, Del Gomez; stepchildren, Michael (Teri) Greer and Cheryl (Tim) Bass; grandchildren, Andrea (Randy) Doughty, Deanna Bartolucci, Laura (Rich) Gold, Brigette (Denny) Klein, Ed Gomez, Jessica (Steve) Stepp, Matthew (Jenny) Brown, Ashley Greer, Sabrina (Matt) Goehring and Jeremy Greer; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Doughty, Corey Patten, Rebecca Doughty, Elizabeth Gold, Emma Lawson, Easton Stepp, Ellie Stepp, Ava Brown, Bristol Wilson, Quinten Keller, Maxwell Goehring and Jayla Greer; and great-great-grandchildren, Tanner Doughty, Justice Doughty and Methias Doughty.

Rosary service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m., with a memorial Mass to follow at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 4085 Main St., Kelseyville.

Donations preferred to a charity of your choice.
