Martha Grover

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Martha “Dianne” Grover passed away March 12, 2015, at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.

She was born in Montebello, Calif., June 11, 1946 to Everett and Betty Owens. In 1961, the Owens' moved to Lakeport.

Dianne graduated from Clear Lake High School. She married Leon Grover in 1964 and has a son Leon (Lon) and daughter, Stacie.

In 1974 the Grovers moved to Burney and later to Fall River Mills in Northern California but spent many summers and weekends back in Lakeport to visit family and friends and get out of the cold.

Dianne was fun loving with a sense of adventure and, at different times of her life, enjoyed cheerleading, water skiing, camping and fishing (here she would say “YUK”) and she was a voracious reader all of her life. She especially loved the ocean where she would venture in up to her ankles only when she was feeling especially brave!

She a special fondness for animals and children. Funny, compassionate, and a great listener, Di always had the ability to instantly make friend and make everyone feel like family.

Family was very important to Dianne. Always a kid at heart, Dianne loved spending time with her two granddaughters in Colorado, Ashley and Courtney. Even strangers at the grocery store got a full update of her special girls, her pride an joy! They were truly the loves of her life.

Dianne's laughter, joy, generosity and spirit will be missed by her family and many, many friends.

She is survived by her husband, Leon; son, Lon; daughter, Stacie (Larry) Packard; granddaughters, Ashley and Courtney; sister, Marilyn (Mike) Williamson of Lakeport; nieces, Penny, Page, Christy and Holly; nephew, James; great nieces, Kiersten, Stella and Sierra; and great nephew, Branden.

A celebration of Dianne's life will beheld on Saturday, March 28, at noon at the Lucky 4 Trailer Park, 1060 N. Main St., Lakeport.

Dianne would have liked you to do something for yourself or loved ones or donate to your favorite charity.

Arrangements by Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, Lakeport.
