With your help, we were able to send our two young women, Taylor-Paige Butler, Miss Lake County, and Katherine Murphy, Miss Lake County’s Outstanding Teen, to the Miss California /Miss California’s Outstanding Teen Pageants held in June of this year in Fresno.

Your support has also enabled our girls to participate in various community events this year. A heartfelt thank you to all!

At this time we are busy planning our 2010 Miss Lake County Pageant which will be held on Jan. 23, 2010, at the Soper-Reese Theatre in Lakeport.

Young women who live, work or attend school in Lake County and are between the ages of 13 to 16 for the Teen Program and 17 to 24 for the Miss Program are eligible to compete.

We have scheduled two orientations (you only need to attend one) for Sunday, Nov. 1, and Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. each day at the Mendo-Lake Credit Union Meeting Room, 963 11th St., Lakeport. These are question and answer sessions to let you know what our program is all about. Your parents are more than welcome to attend.

Rehearsals will start on Saturday, Nov. 21, and will generally be held every Saturday, except for holiday weekends, until the date of the pageant.

We encourage all young ladies to attend. You will have a lot of fun and meet new friends as well.

We look forward to meeting you in November and giving you the opportunity to not only compete for the titles of Miss Lake County and Miss Lake County’s Outstanding Teen, but also go on to compete in the Miss California and Miss California’s Outstanding Teen Pageants. These are also the preliminary pageants to Miss America!

And, remember, everyone who competes will win a scholarship award.
