LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – High school sweethearts Ken and Elizabeth Hoagland are celebrating 71 years of marriage.

They married on Dec. 14, 1949, in Vallejo.

Ken Hoagland was a partner in Early Dawn Development, a construction company that built houses, mostly in Hidden Valley Lake, commuting back to the Bay Area before deciding to make the move to Lake County.

The Hoaglands have made Lake County their home for the past 31 years. They lived in Clearlake Oaks for 20 years before moving to Clearlake.

They are amazing parents to Keith Hoagland (Donna, 2018), Steve Hoagland (Annette) and Lisa (Jim) Sani.

They are awesome grandparents to Keith (Tiffinie) and Kenneth, Amanda and Steven (Esther), Christina, Stephanie (Chad), Josh and Nick.

And they’re wonderful great-grandparents to Sean, Katelin, Catalina, David, Daniel, Timothy, Lucas and Julia.

Their favorite thing to do is spend time with their family. They are loved dearly.

“Congratulations, you two. We love you,” their family said.
