CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – In support of Meals on Wheels, “An Afternoon of Tea and Fashion” took place on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Live Oak Senior Center, 12502 Foothill Blvd., Clearlake Oaks.
The fundraising event was presented by Executive Director Susan Dufrain and volunteers Sandy Mendoza, Carla Lundergreen, Lisa Pacheco, Becky Stahlman and Elizabeth Chase. The delicate tea sandwiches and indulgences they prepared were outstanding. Roy Dufrain and Leona Butts also assisted with the event.
After serving the delightful tea, four of the ladies transformed into lovely fashion models displaying the latest fashions one can find locally at “Fashions by Lisa's 3 to 60” in Clearlake.
Susan, Sandy, Carla and Lisa swirled in fashions by Keren Hart, Bestow of California, London Imports, Caribe of California, Channa, Rainbow Designs and Valentina, all to the applause of an appreciative audience. “Lisa's 3 to 60” not only has wonderful fashions; recent additions to her shop are a Christian book store, tuxedo rentals, a gift shop with fine jewelry, and Lisa also does alterations.
Resulting in many happy winners, a drawing for an array of lovely gifts followed the fashion show.
All attendees became a valuable and appreciated part of a community-wide endeavor to provide meals daily (including weekends) to more than forty homebound seniors in the Clearlake Oaks/Glenhaven area.
