Caltrans issues local, regional traffic advisories

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Caltrans has issued traffic advisories for local and regional highways where roadwork is planned to take place in the coming week.

The closures are as follows.

Highway 175, Lake and Mendocino counties

There will be a full closure of Highway 175 over the Hopland Grade from one mile west of Buckman Drive to Grants Quarry from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Caltrans said the full closure of Highway 175 is needed to replace a damaged culvert that runs under the roadway.

The culvert was damaged from the Mendocino Complex Fire this summer.

Highway 1, Mendocino County

There will be intermittent full road closures at Albion River bridge on Highway 1 in Mendocino County.

The closures will begin Monday, Nov. 19, and continue on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for four weeks.

Motorists should expect 20-minute delays.

Full road closures are required due to helicopter flights over the work zone. The helicopter is helping to stage equipment for geotechnical studies for the Albion River bridge. The helicopter flights are weather dependent so the exact schedule is unknown at this time.

The Coastal Development Permit issued by the California Coastal Commission allows helicopter flights for a time period of up to four weeks, however the actual days of helicopter flights will be no more than six.
