LAKEPORT, Calif. – Most of us will experience the life-altering occurrence of losing a loved one – the death of a best friend, a parent, son or daughter – the pain, fear, sadness and other emotions and thoughts that are endured over time.
Those who have experienced the death of a loved one know that Valentine’s Day and grief is a tough combination.
With this in mind, Hospice Services of Lake County will host presentations and group discussions throughout Lake County for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one and are interested in exploring ways to deal with their grief.
Bereavement Counselor Kathleen Bradley will facilitate the presentations, which are scheduled as follows:
– Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Keys Club, 12980 Lakeland St., Clearlake Oaks;
– Friday, Feb. 2, at the Lucerne Senior Center, 3985 Country Club Drive;
– Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Middletown Senior Center, 21256 Washington St.;
– Friday, Feb. 9, at the Highlands Senior Support Center, 3245 Bowers Ave., Clearlake;
– and Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Middletown Senior Center.
Groups will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
These are free events and open to the public. Participants will be provided information in a safe and supportive environment intended to help them better understand and deal with their own grief.
Bradley is a licensed psychiatric technician with more than 25 years’ experience working as a behavioral health professional.
