Lake Transit implements new transit pass policy

LOWER LAKE, Calif. – Lake Transit Authority is committed to making sure that regular riders who purchase weekly or monthly passes receive full value for their purchases.

They are taking action to compensate passengers for reduced service during the ongoing labor action.

Individuals who have July monthly passes may present them to the driver and receive a free punch pass good for $11 in transit fares.

The punch pass can be used by the recipient or given to a friend. Individuals who purchased weekly passes that were validated for a week that included reduced service due to the strike can turn in their weekly pass for a free replacement when full services resume.

Lake Transit wants to encourage regular riders to have confidence in future purchases, too. A pass purchased for the month of August will be good for all of August and September.

In the event that services continue to be limited by the labor action past Sept. 3, the August and September passes will be valid through Oct. 31.
