LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Teamsters Local 665 will host two town hall meetings this week to discuss the indefinite strike of Lake Transit Authority workers.

The two town halls will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center, 3985 Country Club Drive; and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Lakeport Senior Center, 527 Konocti Ave.

Local 665 members voted to go out on an indefinite strike on Monday, July 29, after rejecting a 2.2-percent wage increase from Paratransit Services, the Washington-based nonprofit that since 2007 has held the contract for operating Lake Transit.

The strike is to continue until the union and Paratransit Services can reach agreement on a new three-year contract.

Transit riders, striking drivers, and Lake County residents will discuss the temporary changes in bus service in Lake County.
