KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Lake County Historical Society is pleased to announce the start of construction of the first display barn at the Ely Stage Stop and Country Museum, located at 9921 Soda Bay Road.
This barn will be the future home of many of the society’s artifacts, including antique farm implements and a stage coach, as well as a functioning blacksmith’s shop.
It also will become part of the Lake County Quilt Trail when the historical society’s quilt block is hung on the front.
More history is about to be made and the historical society invites community members to be a part of it.
The foundation has been laid and they are ready to start building on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 18.
This undertaking will not be finished in just one day.
The group is very interested in finding skilled workers and general volunteers to help with this historical construction project.
Individuals and groups are all welcome, community service hours are available.
