Caltrans plans major roadwork through Thursday, Oct. 1

NORTH COAST – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around Lake County during the coming week.


Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.


LAKE COUNTY


Highway 20


– A highway widening project from Government Street to Rancheria Road will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays. Contractor – Argonaut Constructors of Santa Rosa.


– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Gladys Street to Linden Street on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.


– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Catholic Church Road to the junction of Route 20/53 on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.


– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from 0.3 to 0.8 mile west of New Long Valley Road on Monday, Sept. 28. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect.

Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.


– A roadway realignment project from 1.4 miles east of the North Fork Cache Creek Bridge to 1.6 miles west of Walker Ridge Road will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Argonaut Constructors of Santa Rosa.


– A paving project just east of Walker Ridge Road will begin Monday, Sept. 28. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute

delays. Contractor – Knife River Construction of Chico.


Highway 29


– A highway widening and lighting project at Spruce Grove Road will continue. Nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday evening through Friday morning. During work hours one way traffic will be in effect, and motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. At other times a shoulder closure will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and motorists are advised to drive with caution through the area and may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – Argonaut Constructors of Santa Rosa.


– Bridge deck repairs at Kelseyville Creek Bridge will continue on Tuesday, September 29. Work hours are 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays. Contractor – DeBruin Construction, Incorporated, of Stockton.


– Caltrans will provide traffic control at the junction of Route 29/175 near Lakeport on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect, and turns onto Route 175 will be restricted. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.


Highway 175


– PG&E of Eureka has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree trimming from 0.6 mile west of Mathews Road to Mathews Road beginning Tuesday, Sept. 29. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.


– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Mathews Road to the junction of Route 29/175 near Lakeport on Friday, Sept. 25. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. One-way traffic control will be

in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.


– Caltrans will provide traffic control at the junction of Route 29/175 near Lakeport on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. A full road closure will be in effect. Motorists will be advised to use an alternate route and may experience minor delays.


– PG&E of Eureka has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree trimming from Estates Drive to 0.5 mile west of Socrates Mine beginning Tuesday, Sept. 29. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.


MENDOCINO COUNTY


Highway 1


– North Gualala Water Company has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit to install a water main from Big Gulch Road to Glennen Drive. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.


– Bridge deck repairs at Alder Creek Bridge, Elk Creek Bridge, Russian Gulch Bridge, Casper Creek Bridge and Hare Creek Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect at one bridge at a time. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – DeBruin Construction Inc. of Stockton.


– Construction of a retaining wall about three miles north of Elk will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should

anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Granite Construction of Ukiah.


Highway 20


– Construction of a retaining wall 0.4 mile east of Three Chop Road will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Granite Construction of Ukiah.


– Anthony Faga of Fort Bragg has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit to install a road approach between 0.7 mile west of Old Lake County Road and Old Lake County Road. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.


Highway 101


– Storm damage repair from 0.5 mile north of the Mendocino/Sonoma County line 1.6 miles south of East Side Road will continue. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of

travel 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – North Bay Construction of Petaluma.


– A pavement repair project from the West Road Overcrossing to Moore Avenue will continue. Southbound traffic will be restricted to one lane 24 hours per day, from midnight Sunday to 3PM

Friday. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – Professional Concrete Services of Pleasant Hill.


– Roadway repair due to pavement deterioration and a slipout from 1.1 miles north of Reeves Canyon Road to Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – North Bay Construction of Petaluma.


– Bob Barsotti of Laytonville has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit to hold the annual Earthdance Live event Thursday, September 24 through Sunday, Sept. 27. A temporary detour will be in place, providing a left-turn pocket into Black Oak Ranch. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through this area, and may experience minor traffic slowdowns.


– Bridge repairs at the Rattlesnake Creek Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – Parsons Walls of Roseville.


– Paving near Confusion Hill will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – MCM Construction of North Highlands.


Highway 128


– A culvert replacement project from 2.8 miles east of the junction of Route 1/128 to the Mendocino/Sonoma County line will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect at one location at a time. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Coast Construction Inc. of San Rafael.


– Bridge deck repairs at the North Fork Navarro River Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – DeBruin Construction Inc. of Stockton.


– AT&T of Walnut Creek has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility relocation from 1.5 to 3.5 miles east of Mountain House Road. Work hours 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.


– Repair of a slipout near the Mendocino/Sonoma County line will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Fedco Construction of Santa Rosa.


Highway 162


– A bridge widening project at Outlet Creek Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays. Contractor – Viking Construction Co. Inc. of Rancho Cordova.


– A highway reconstruction and realignment project 1.6 miles east of Rodeo Creek Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – Argonaut Constructors of

Santa Rosa.


Highway 175


– PG&E of Eureka has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree trimming 0.3 mile east of Harrison to 0.2 mile east of Wooldridge. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.


Highway 253


– A bridge widening project at Anderson Creek Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays. Contractor – Viking Construction Co. Inc. of Rancho Cordova.


– Construction of a retaining wall about two miles west of the junction of Route 128/253 will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Mendocino Construction Services Inc. of Willits.


– A culvert replacement project from Butler Ranch to Stipp Lane will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Coast Construction Inc. of San Rafael.
