LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Board of Supervisors will hold budget hearings for the county’s 2019-20 recommended budget this week.
The board is scheduled to meet beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, and Thursday, June 6, in the board chambers on the first floor of the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport.

The hearings will begin with the supervisors sitting as the Lake County Air Quality Management District Board of Directors and considering the district’s fiscal year 2019-20 recommended budget for budget units No. 8799 and No. 8798.
The board will then move into its hearing of the county’s fiscal year 2019-2020 recommended budget.
During the hearing, the board will consider the proposed resolution establishing new classifications and amending the position allocation table for fiscal year 2019-2020 to conform to the recommended budget and authorization for affected department heads to proceed with purchasing selected capital assets prior to the adoption of the fiscal year 2019-2020 final recommended budget .
County staff is taking to the board a proposed budget totaling $254,219,841; that’s nearly $12 million more than the final budget the supervisors approved in September.
County Administrative Officer Carol Huchingson said in her report to the board that recommended general fund appropriations total $60,512,686, which represents a decrease of $424,394 – or -0.7 percent – compared to the prior year’s adopted budget, plus mid-year adjustments equaling $60,937,080.
