CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Lake County Campus of Woodland Community College presents “Building CommUNITY” on Monday, Sept. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Guest speakers Voris Brumfield, Aqeela Elamin, Karl Parker and Steve Wylie will respond and comment on questions about the First Amendment right of free speech, freedom of religion, as well as their experience with discrimination and prejudices.
Too often, we have found ways to create a divide between us in the nation, even in our own communities. Yet, the connections between community members is necessary to build up a community that is prosperous and successful. How do we overcome this divide? How we do build a community together? How do we unite?
These are all important questions that this event will attempt to answer and leave attendees with a new perspective of self and community.
Lake County Campus is located at 15880 Dam Road Extension in Clearlake and the event will be in the 200 building, next to Aromas Café.
