KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Lake Family Resource Center will host the eighth annual Kelseyville Olive Festival, a celebration of the mighty olive and the local community, on Sunday, April 30.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Chacewater Winery and Olive Mill, 5625 Gaddy Lane, Kelseyville.
This free and family-friendly event highlights olive and olive oil products and offers a wide range of vendor booths and activities for all ages.
In addition to vendors selling a range of food and arts/crafts, there will be children’s activities, such as face painting and hula-hooping.
There also will be an art contest, olive oil judging, a raffle, an olive pit spitting contest, and other activities.
For adults over the age of 21, several local wineries will be pouring wine, and Lake County’s own Mount St. Helena Brewing Co. will be serving beer. Wrist bands for access to wine and beer cost $20.
All proceeds from this event go to Lake Family Resource Center, a nonprofit organization supporting and strengthening families in Lake County.
The organization operates the county’s only domestic violence shelter and only Early Head Start program for children aged 0 to 3 years old, and operate the 24-hour Community Crisis Line and the Rape Crisis Center.
They provide counseling services for adults and children in addition to fire recovery counseling.
Key partners in the Kelseyville Olive Festival are Chacewater Winery and Olive Mill and Rosa d’Oro Vineyards who provide key support.
Other sponsors include Catspaw Vineyard and Stacie Marie Essentials. Supporting wineries and breweries are Boatique Winery, Chacewater Winery and Olive Mill, Eagle Distributing Co, Kaz Winery, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Mount St. Helena Brewing Company, Olof Cellars, Rosa d’Oro Vineyards, Smiling Dogs Ranch and Steele Wines.
