CLEARLAKE, Calif. – A Clearlake woman was arrested last week for stabbing her boyfriend several times while he was fighting her with adult son.
Embree Ternise Vance, 40, was arrested for attempted murder and felony domestic violence in the case, according to Sgt. Rodd Joseph of the Clearlake Police Department.
At about 9:45 p.m. March 3 Clearlake Police Officers responded to a report of a stabbing victim at St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake, Joseph said.
Joseph said the 58-year-old male victim, a Clearlake resident whose name has been withheld, was suffering several stab wounds to his abdomen and was later flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
During the officers’ initial contact with the victim, who Joseph said was intoxicated, it was learned that he was stabbed by his girlfriend – identified as Embree Vance – during a physical altercation between the victim and the suspect’s adult son.
After interviewing the victim, officers responded to the scene of the stabbing, the home the couple shared in the 16500 block of Dam Road, Joseph said.
As officers were arriving at the residence, Sgt. Travis Lenz located a male and female subject walking in the road nearby. Joseph said both subjects appeared intoxicated.
Upon contact, the woman was identified as Embree Vance, and the male with her was identified as 18-year-old Shandoah Vance, her son. Both were very intoxicated, Joseph said.
Joseph said Embree Vance admitted to stabbing her boyfriend during a physical altercation he was in with her son Shandoah. Police found her to still be in possession of the knife. Both Embree Vance and her son appeared to be uninjured.
The mother and son were arrested and transported to the Lake County Jail, where she was booked on the attempted murder and domestic violence charges, with her bail set at $200,000, according to jail records. She remained in custody on Sunday.
Shandoah Vance was arrested for public intoxication, with bail set at $1,000, based on his booking sheet. Jail records indicated he later posted the required portion of bail and was released.
Joseph said the case has been submitted to the Lake County District Attorney’s Office for filing.
The victim was last reported to be in stable condition, Joseph said.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact investigating officer Leo Flores at 707-994-8251, Extension 542.
