KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Two people were reported to have been injured in a head-on collision on Highway 29 near the Konocti Conservation Camp Tuesday evening.
The crash occurred just after 7:30 p.m. and involved a dark blue minivan and a silver two-door Toyota, according to initial reports from the California Highway Patrol.
The vehicles were blocking the highway, which was shut down as emergency personnel and CHP officers responded to the scene, according to radio reports.
Reports from the scene indicated that an elderly female was trapped in the Toyota.
With major injuries reported, two air ambulances were called to the scene to fly patients out of county to a regional trauma center, based on radio reports.
REACH 6 and CalStar 4 both responded to a nearby landing zone, with REACH lifting off just after 8:15 p.m. and CalStar 4 taking off about 10 minutes later, reports from the scene indicated.
