Calpine Corp.: Grading permit to lower, enlarge existing drill pad

NOTICE OF PROPOSED MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION & GRADING PERMIT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lake County Community Development Director will consider approving a GRADING PERMIT (GR 13-053) to authorize Calpine Corporation to lower the existing drill pad level in order to enlarge the pad to support a full-size drill rig and re-establish an abandoned road below the pad, on Castle Springs Road on the parcel located at 10155 Socrates Mine Road, Middletown, CA, APN 013-058-12, and will consider adoption of a mitigated negative declaration for this project based on Initial Study IS 14–12.  

The proposed grading permit, mitigated negative declaration, and all documents referenced in the proposed mitigated negative declaration are available for review at the Community Development Department, Lake County Courthouse at 255 North Forbes Street, Lakeport, CA.  

The review period during which the Community Development Department will receive comments on the proposed mitigated negative declaration will start on August 21, 2014 and end on September 10, 2014.

The Community Development Director will approve this project with no public hearing if no written request for a public hearing is submitted to the Community Development Department by 5:00 P.M., September 10, 2014.  

Should a timely request for hearing be filed, a public hearing will be held on September 17, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. in Conference Room C, 3rd Floor of the Lake County Courthouse.
