CLEARLAKE, Calif. – St. Helena Physical Therapy Center is proud to welcome Daniel Hoppe, DPT, to the physical therapy team. Hoppe is experienced in a wide variety of treatment techniques, modalities and therapeutic exercises to help patients restore function and limit disability.

“We’ve been looking for the right fit for our team and this community for a long time, and Daniel is the perfect person to serve here,” said Ron Ryskalczyk, DPT, director of rehabilitative services. “His friendly, welcoming attitude and skill as a physical therapist have already made him a hit with our patients.”

Hoppe is a native of San Jose, and attended San Jose State University. An avid athlete, Hoppe played numerous sports and played on SJSU’s collegiate basketball team. 

“I knew if professional basketball didn’t work out, physical therapy was the route I wanted to take,” said Hoppe. “I’m a people person who loves being active, so physical therapy was a natural fit for me because I can help others be as active as they can be.”

He enjoys working with athletes who are returning to activity after an injury. Hoppe has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and includes hands-on, manual techniques in his approach to therapy.

“My goal is to have each patient leave their physical therapy session with the tools they need to independently manage any of their conditions and to promote a healthy lifestyle,” said Hoppe. “The idea of physical therapy can be intimidating, but I try to make it as fun and helpful as possible.”

After graduating from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions with his doctorate in physical therapy, Hoppe practiced in Fresno before moving to Lake County. 

“I like the rural setting,” he said. “I went to grad school in Boston, and that big city setting wasn’t for me.” 

He and his wife, a pharmacist, are looking forward to exploring the area.
