MIDDLETOWN – Quilting and sewing classes will be held in the Middletown United Methodist Church Social Hall on Thursday evenings.

The classes will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 23, 30 and Aug. 6.

“Patchwork Quilt I” class will begin with the “shoo-fly” pattern, a simple square and triangle.

The instructors, Mary and Shirley, have many years of experience of sewing to share. Mary's experience is with quilting, crocheting and fine hand sewing. Shirley's experience is with running a fabric design studio and custom painting and sewing for interior design.

Together they will bring a variety of skills to offer the classes, giving each student important personal training.

The quilt class is designed to offer support for adults and teens desiring to learn sewing and quilting.
