Jackson Demonstration State Forest campgrounds, day use areas remain closed

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Jackson Demonstration State Forest campgrounds and day use areas will remain closed until further notice, according to a report from Cal Fire’s Mendocino Unit.

These measures are taken to be in compliance with the order of the health officer of the county of Mendocino updated May 15 and incorporates by reference, the March 4 declaration of the health officer; the March 4 proclamation of a state of emergency issued by Gov. Gavin Newsom; the March 4 proclamation of local emergency for the county of Mendocino issued by the director of emergency services declaring the existence of a local emergency in the county regarding novel coronavirus 2019, or COVID-19; the March 10 resolution of the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors ratifying and extending the declaration of a local health emergency, and ratifying and extending the proclamation of a local emergency.

This notice is in accordance with Section 1438 and 1439, Title 14, California Code of Regulations.
