UKIAH – Mendocino College Assistant Head Football Coach Mike Mari has been inducted into the Humboldt State University Athletic Hall Of Fame.

Mari, a Eureka native, was a four-year starter on the offensive line for the Lumberjacks (1995-1998) and a three-time, all-conference selection.

While at Humboldt, Mari was a strength and conditioning All-American.

After finishing his career at Humboldt, Mari played two seasons in the Arena Football League for the Oklahoma Wranglers (2000-2001).

Mari then returned to Eureka to coach at St. Bernard’s High School for five seasons, where they won the North Coast Section in 2003.

For the last four seasons, Mari has served as the defensive coordinator and a health instructor for Mendocino College.

“It is very humbling to be elected to the Humboldt State University Hall Of Fame,” said Mari. “I had many great memories there and this just tops it off.”

The Humboldt State University Athletic Hall Of Fame will be held Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. in the Kate Buchanon Room.
