Carl

Lower Lake – We appreciate our teachers and all the hard work they do so we gave each of our staff a special little gift on Teacher appreciation day.  Teachers love apples…any kind of apple actually.

Even marble apples.

We awarded our staff with marble apples of their favorite color.  These apples will forever remind them of their effort they have put into this school and the students that they have guided.

Every year our students led by Verna Rogers save money to go to the Ashland Shakespeare festival. The students who raised the money were Crystal Black, Brianna Dorner, Amber Hatchel, Amy Jones, Christina Orr, Cy Passley, Lavonne Pattee, Kurtis Pecchenino, Zanetta Phillips, Deborah Powell, Andrew Smith, and Jennifer Valdez.

They will be seeing three plays: Tracy’s Tiger, As You Like It, and Rabbit Hole.  This is a great educational, fun experience for them. The California Conservation Corporation came to speak to us about future jobs on May Eighth.  The  “C.C.C” is a program that supports forestry and forestry related careers that has been around since the Great Depression On Memorial Day we will be honoring veterans by hanging flags on the Avenue of Flags at the Lower Lake Cemetery.

We would like to thank Joel and Flora Moore for all their support and coordination of  the Avenue of the Flags event.  All are invited to honor veterans. Show up at the building in the center of the cemetery  at 6;45 AM we will launch from there. The day before, Sunday May twenty seventh to celebrate Memorial Day we will play a huge role in the historic Lower Lake Parade and BBQ.

We  will be cleaning up the grounds, busing tables, and setting up(and taking down) all the tents.  Verna’s father will be supplying two cars that the grand marshals will ride in. Last year he won first place in the car part of the parade.  Our principal Bill MacDougal will be announcing the parade, we will do the poop patrol and clean the street before we head down to the BBQ.

At the BBQ we will handle many chores and our teacher Alan’s band Lefty which includes Dan Maes and Bill Konrad of Oak Hill will play from 12 noon to 4 pm at the band shell there. Prom will be on May Nineteenth and anyone who ever went to Carlé is welcome.  Tickets are ten dollars for a couple and seven dollars an individual.  It will start at eight and end at twelve.

Thank you for reading the Carlé Chronicle!
