It's another great week here at Carlé, and many things are happening.

The gold-level students for the last grading period were announced, and they were Andre Ari, Sam Ayala, Rodney Browning-Munson, Kelly Campo, Travis Conine, Justin Duncan, Atlee Erickson, Ayala Hummingbird, Dre'shon Hunter, Michael Jefferson, Marquice Lamar, Kristina Micheletti, Daniel Miller, Courtney Montiel, Steven Negrete, David Ochoa, Jah-Brela Parker, Jamila Parker, Sarah Roath, Cheyenne Taylor and Kelly Trask.

Some of our students who have been gold level for two or more grading periods in a row have received sustainability rewards along with certificates that can be traded in for products made by Carlé High School's business, Pegasus Productions. They can put a design on a mug or, if they get enough rewards, even a T-shirt.

On the subject of Pegasus Productions, there is a contest for all students to make designs for T-shirts. The business will be making up to 10 free T-shirts, all with Carlé-related designs. The reason we are doing this is because we want people to wear these shirts so they can represent Carlé out in the community.

The student/staff lunch was held last week, and it was an event in which each staff member chose a student to have lunch with. Alan chose Jamila Parker, Bill chose Lavonne Pattee, Patty chose Debbie Powel, Steve chose David Ochoa, Dan chose Chris Perry, Gary chose A.J. Ochoa, Barbara chose Bonnie Passley, Verna chose Kelly Campo, Angie chose Heather Valdez and Pat had lunch with Wesley Leverenz.

Martha Bakerjen, our retired culinary teacher, volunteered to help cook and organize it along with our current culinary teacher, Lauren Schneider. It was an absolutely fabulous lunch and a preview of some of the food to be served at our upcoming cabaret. We would like to thank student chefs Steven Vezeau, Jah-Brela Parker and Kristina Micheletti for their devotion and delicious food!

The production of the Cabaret is in motion; students are putting together acts to perform for guests. Lavonne Pattee is choreographing a dance routine from the film Chicago. She has recruited several beautiful girls to sing and dance a song called The Cellblock Tango. Lavonne described this performance as “an intricate mix of singing and dancing that six students will be performing exclusively for the Cabaret.”

Our principal Bill MacDougall, said this about the Cabaret: “This will surely be a fabulous evening in which the Carlé students will show their culinary and artistic skills.”

Our student of the week this week was Jah-Brela Parker, who has been a great student. We made her student of the week this week to show that we appreciate her hard work.

That is all for this week's Chronicle! Have a great week!

Atlee Erickson is a junior at Carlé High School.
