KUSD board holds town hall meeting Jan. 16

LOWER LAKE – The Konocti Unified School District Board of Trustees will hold its annual town hall meeting this week.


The meeting will take place beginning at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Carol McClung Conference Center, 9430 Lake St., Lower Lake.


Board members include President Herb Gura, Clerk Anita Gordon and members Mary Silva, Carolynn Jarrett, Hank Montgomery and student member Emmalena Illia.


The district's strategic plan, 2007 Year in Review and community goal setting session for 2008 will top the agenda. The discussion is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.


Also on the agenda is an expulsion readmission hearing at 8:30 p.m.; permission for an overnight field trip to the Environmental Living Program at the Petaluma Adobe for Marsha Levelle's Fourth Grade Class on Feb. 12 and 13; approval of a request for an overnight field trip for Mr. Bordisso's fourth grade class to Monterey Bay; and acceptance of a book donation from Ame Bland.


The Board of Trustees also will consider approving a memorandum of understanding with the Lake County Redevelopment Agency for the purpose of improving school facilities at East Lake Elementary and opening the ball field to the public.
